Brookdale’s Gemma Ferris Named GSAC Division III Volleyball Player Of The Week

September 29, 2025 - The Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) is proud to announce that Gemma Ferris, a freshman outside hitter from Brookdale Community College, has been selected as the GSAC Division III Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of September 22–28.

Ferris had a standout week for the Jersey Blues, showcasing her versatility and all-around game. Over two matches, she recorded 30 kills, 35 digs, and seven spikes, while also adding 13 points and 24 digs in a single match performance. Her offensive power and defensive consistency played a crucial role in Brookdale's victory over a regionally ranked opponent and highlighted her as one of the conference's rising stars.

As just a freshman, Ferris has quickly become a key contributor for Brookdale, demonstrating leadership and resilience on the court. Her impact is expected to continue to grow as the Jersey Blues progress through the season.
