Region XIX Division III Softball Championship Update

Edison, NJ - Day one of the Region XIX Division III Softball Championship delivered a full slate of action as the four-team field battled through the opening rounds on Sunday.  Top-seeded RCSJ–Gloucester opened the tournament in strong fashion, defeating Camden County 11–2 in Game 1. The Roadrunners advanced with a balanced offensive attack and efficient pitching to move into the winners' bracket.  In Game 2, Brookdale asserted its position as the No. 2 seed with a convincing 10–2 victory over Northampton, sending the Spartans into the elimination bracket.  Facing elimination later in the day, Northampton responded in Game 3 with a strong performance, defeating Camden County 12–7 to eliminate Camden from the tournament and keep championship hopes alive.

Game 4 featured a tightly contested winners' bracket matchup between #2 Brookdale and #1 RCSJ–Gloucester. Brookdale came out on top with a 7–5 win, handing RCSJ–Gloucester its first loss of the tournament and securing a spot in Monday's championship round unbeaten.
